Frequently Asked Questions
Who is this for?
This project tracker and time invoicing system was specifically designed for the very small personal businesses. As a small business owner (just me) I needed a quick way to keep track of the companies I do work for, the projects completed for those companies, and how much time was involved. I also needed a quick way to create invoices to bill them for the time. WorkJot accomplishes these tasks quickly and easily.
How granular can my rate be?
You can bill every time entry a different hourly rate if you wish. The system starts by looking at your overall account rate, then do each individual company's rate. During your invoice screen it will default to either the company or your overall rate depending on which is specified. You may then change your rates for each entry as you see fit.
Are my invoices saved for later use?
Yes, of course! You can view invoices anytime for all companies or for each individual company.
Can I track if an invoice was paid?
Yes, once you invoice a client and that client pays you, specify the date paid and mark it as paid. This helps you keep track of your outstanding balance.
Does this cost anything?
Nope! Not for now. Until I have everything completely worked out it's free of charge! Just contact me with any comments, suggestions, or ideas that you feel will make it a better application.
Can a project be invoiced multiple times?
A project can be invoiced as many times as you need it to be if it remains a current project. However, the time entries under the project can only be invoiced once. Once a project is marked as completed, it can not be further invoiced.
